Who is Natalie George?
Natalie George is an award-winning designer, producer and artist based in Austin, TX. She is the Founder/Executive Director of Natalie George Productions (NGP), a full service event and production company. In its third year of business, NGP was awarded “Best of 2017” Critics’ Pick by The Austin Chronicle. Additionally, NGP’s production of "1000 Forest Gorillas in Kansas" won Best Choreography by Central Texas Excellence in Theater Awards. NGP’s clients include Boohoo.com, AMC, Alamo Drafthouse, BMW of Austin, Red Fan Communications, Mars, Inc, The City of Austin, Blue Genie, GlobalFest, Brown Advisory, Yoga with Adriene, Creative Action, Bottleneck Immersive, and countless clients for private events.
From 2009 to 2014, Natalie served as Producing Director of Fusebox Festival, and helped the festival grow into a worldwide phenomenon, attracting audiences and artists from all over the globe. Her producing credits include the short film, "The Runner", which was selected for a screening by Austin Film Festival in 2011, new plays Sad, Sad, Sad and Spacestation 1985, which were produced in New York and Austin, as well as a web-series, "Fun Club". She has served as a panelist for Dance USA Conference, and as a speaker for a City of Austin panel featuring best-selling author, Austin Kleon.
As a freelance Lighting Designer, Natalie worked steadily for The O’Neill Theater Center, Mary Moody Northen Theater, Rude Mechanicals, Salvage Vanguard Theater, Zilker Theatre Productions, National Puppetry Conference, and many corporate clients. Her work garnered multiple lighting design awards and over 20 nominations, including Austin Critics Table and B. Iden Payne Awards. Natalie founded a lighting rental company called Light Bastard Amber in 2001, along with business partner Jennifer Rogers, which serviced dozens of local theaters, schools and private events. Natalie studied technical theater at St. Edward’s University in Austin.
