In the Fall of 2016, Shudder, AMC’s exclusive horror streaming channel, hired NGP for an exciting installation piece. They had a film in both Fantastic Fest and Beyond Fest, Sadako vs. Kayako.
One of the ways the client wanted to promote the film was by hiring directors to create their own version of the cursed tape from Ringu. In their sponsorship of Fantastic Fest and Beyond Fest, they built in an opportunity to have a lobby display in the theaters on the day of the screening, playing the original cursed tapes off of old CRT TVs. NGP built, installed, and de-installed the AV cart in the lobby of the Alamo Draft house on South Lamar.
The project was super rad! Sam at Shudder really loved how it turned out. The installation caught lots of twitter attention.
The investment firm reached out to NGP with one mission…..”Help us brand our Austin launch in style”. Brown Advisory, which opened an office in Austin in 2016, threw a party to bring together their new and old friends in the community, including Mayor Adler.
They chose Boiler Nine for their launch event because the upper deck had old school view finders pointing at their soon-to-be-finished office tower. Brown Advisory asked NGP to help them show off the new spot from the vantage point of the view finders. NGP hung a banner on the 16th floor of the new office building. From 3 blocks away, event goers could gaze upon the brilliantly illuminated banner. NGP handled the communication with the developer, commercial leasing office, and construction crew to make this happen, including taking a hard hat training course!
IT WORKED! This was a crazy challenge for NGP and we had no idea if we were going to pull it off. Dana Cooksey from Brown Advisory was beyond impressed. They invited us to the launch event as honored guests.
