Natalie came to Austin in 1995 to study Theatre at St. Edward's University and subsequently began working as a Freelance Lighting Designer, working with companies such as: The O'Neill Theater Center, Rude Mechanicals, Salvage Vanguard Theater, Zilker Theatre Productions, National Puppetry Conference, as well as various corporate clients. Her work has garnered multiple lighting design awards and over 20 nominations, including Austin Critics Table and B. Iden Payne Awards.
Natalie served as Producing Director of Fusebox Festival from 2009 to 2014, aiding the company in its growth to a worldwide phenomenon that attracts both artists and audiences from all over the globe. Her producing credits include the short film, "The Runner", (selected for a screening by Austin Film Festival in 2011), new plays "Sad, Sad, Sad" and "Spacestation 1985" (produced in New York and Austin), as well as a web-series, "Fun Club".
In 2014, Natalie established her own production company, Natalie George Productions. NGP is a client-based company focusing on immersion and conceptualizing ideas. Work ranges anywhere from the production of events, connecting clients to vendors and locations, or on-site services like lighting and design. In its third year of business, NGP was awarded “Best of 2017” Critics’ Pick by The Austin Chronicle.
As a natural tinkerer with a craving for collaboration, it only makes sense that Sadie would end up working in theatre. After graduating from Southwestern University in 2009, she freelanced in and around Austin as a lighting designer, electrician, and stage manager.
In 2012, Sadie became the Master Electrician for Mary Moody Northen Theater at St. Edward's University. Although she had been an electrician for Natalie around town for years, it was while working together at MMNT in 2016 that the two began to join forces. Sadie recognized that NGP was poised for takeoff and made it her mission to ensure the company was ready for the success she knew was coming.
The journey since has been a wild one, full of spreadsheets and surprises, but she's loved every minute of it. Most of all, Sadie is grateful to work for a company intent on making the world a better place through the power of art and human connection.
We have an extended network of makers of all skill sets ready to make your vision come to life.
